ROCHESTER, N.Y. — A new museum exhibit explores the stories of trailblazing women in the video game industry.

“Women in Games” at The Strong Museum in Rochester also features video game design documents and iconic female game characters. It invites visitors to explore whether characters are portrayed as heroines or damsels in distress.

The exhibit opening Saturday also looks at video games marketed to girls and created and scripted by women.

The Strong Museum is devoted to the history and exploration of play. It houses the National Toy Hall of Fame and World Video Game Hall of Fame.
