Arrest made in death of man found in Riverside alley

A 57-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the death of a man who was found lifeless in a Riverside alley last week.

Officers responded to a call for an emergency on Oct. 5, just after 7 a.m. in the area of Queen and Saulter Streets.

Upon arrival they located a man suffering from signs of trauma in an alley on June Callwood Way.

Police said the man was found with a swollen face and was pronounced dead at the scene.

He was identified as Clark Sissons, 67, of Toronto and his death was deemed a homicide.

On Wednesday, police said Allan Alexander MacDonald has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder and appeared in court the same day.

This is the city’s 84th homicide of the year.
