A 27-year-old man is dead after a shooting outside a community centre near Don Mills Road and Sheppard Avenue East.

Toronto police were called to Parkway Forest Community Centre just after 8 p.m. Monday after between seven and 10 gunshots were reported in the area.

Police say a small group of people were outside the centre when a dark-coloured, four-door sedan pulled up and fired shots at the group. The driver then fled the scene.

The victim was found suffering from gunshot wounds and was pronounced dead on the scene. Police have since identified him as Paul ‘Boulos’ Rizk, from Toronto.

The community centre was placed under lockdown at the time.

There is no word yet on any suspects.

Rizk is the city’s 80th murder of the year.
