Alleged Yorkdale mall shooter arrested, charged with attempted murder

Toronto police have arrested a 20-year-old man wanted in connection with a shooting at Yorkdale mall on Thursday afternoon.

Zion Sankar-Beharry faces 11 charges, including two counts of attempted murder.

It’s alleged two groups of men got into a fight in the North York mall on Thursday, and Sankar-Beharry fired two shots.

Toronto police officers found him outside of Trenton, Ont, on Monday, and arrested him without incident.

Sankar-Beharry has been charged with two counts of attempted murder and several weapons offences.

He was scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday morning.
