Police seek ‘violent and extremely dangerous’ suspect in Scarborough murder

By News Staff

Toronto police have released the name of a man wanted in connection with the death of a 49-year-old man behind a Scarborough strip mall.

Police say Cecil Graham suffered fatal upper body injuries following an altercation with another person near Markham Road and Finch Avenue East on Friday.

On Sunday, police issued a warrant for 43-year-old Garfield Chambers, who is wanted for second-degree murder in Graham’s death.

Police say he is considered violent and extremely dangerous.

Homicide Det. Sgt. Mike Carbone says the two men knew each other but would not elaborate on what the dispute was between the two of them that ultimately led to Graham’s death.

“I don’t want to get into the specifics of the actual assault because it’s something that we are continuing to investigate,” said Carbone.

Anyone with information is asked to contact police.
