Man, 21, charged with impaired driving in fatal Richmond Hill crash

York police say a 21-year-old man is facing several charges after a fatal crash in Richmond Hill.

Police say they were called to the area of Bayview Avenue and Woodriver Street just before 9:30 p.m. on Sunday night between a Toyota Camry and a Chevrolet Cruze.

The passenger in the Cruz, a 21-year-old woman, was pronounced dead at the scene while the driver, a 22-year-old man,  was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

The driver of the Camry was arrested at the scene for impaired driving and taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Seyed Yashar Tolouei, of Toronto, is facing five charges including impaired driving causing death and dangerous driving causing death.

He has been released from hospital and appeared in court on Monday.
