Motorcyclist killed in crash on Hwy. 407 near Brock

A motorcyclist is dead after a crash on Highway 407 Monday morning.
Emergency crews were called to the westbound lanes near Brock Road around 7:30 a.m.
According to the OPP, the crash involved a motorcycle and a dump truck.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said it appears the dump truck was entering a construction zone on the median between the eastbound and westbound lanes, when the motorcycle crashed into the back of the truck.
The 38-year-old motorcyclist from Whitby was pronounced dead at the scene.
Schmidt said there’s no word how fast either vehicle was going at the time of the crash.
All westbound lanes of the 407 have been closed from Brock Road to York-Durham Line.
