SIU investigates after car crashes into a tree in Oshawa

The province’s Special Investigations Unit is investigation after a car crashed into a tree in Oshawa overnight.

According to the SIU, around 1 a.m. on Wednesday Durham police officers attempted to stop a vehicle in the Dundas Street and Thickson Road area of Whitby.

The vehicle then collided into a tree in the area of King Street West and Thornton Road in Oshawa.

The SIU said the driver of the vehicle suffered a serious injury and was taken to a local hospital.

No further details have been made available at this time, as the SIU continues to investigate the matter.
