A Toronto police officer suffered a serious leg injury following a crash involving a police motorcycle and a vehicle near Oakwood Avenue and Vaughan Road on Thursday.

The officer was on general patrol and was travelling southbound on Oakwood when a car pulled out of a driveway and hit him, knocking him off his motorcycle.

“He has a fractured leg,” said Traffic Services Sgt. Jeff Redden. “He’s getting medical attention.”

Police later updated the officer’s condition, saying he was in stable condition and “doing well.”

“The driver stayed (at the scene),” said Redden. “He’s remorseful, he feels really bad. It was an accident…”

Police would not say if any charges are pending against the driver.
