A man in his 40s has died in hospital after an industrial accident in Oshawa.

Emergency crews were called to Verdun Road, near Ritson Road South and Olive Avenue, just before 9:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Police said it appears a bucket came off a front-end loader, trapping the worker underneath.

He was rushed to hospital with critical injuries. On Thursday, the Ministry of Labour said he has since passed away.

The ministry is continuing to investigate.
