Man, 24, surrenders to police after alleged attack caught on video

A 24-year-old man accused of attacking a woman in Brampton has turned himself in after police released video of the alleged incident.
Police said a 23-year-old woman was approached by a man at a convenience store in the area of Kings Cross Road and Knightsbridge Road around 7:45 p.m. on June 1.
He tried to make conversation with her, and then she left on foot. Police said he followed her in a silver vehicle.
Video released by Peel police on Tuesday, shows the man following the woman as she is walking with a small child. The footage shows the man pushing the woman and then grabbing her by the hair and slamming his hand into her back.
He then runs to his car and drives away.
Anirudha Nayagam, of Brampton, surrendered to Peel police on Tuesday and was charged with sexual assault, assault and criminal harassment.
He was due to appear in a Brampton court on Wednesday.
