3 people injured in 3 separate shootings in Toronto

Three people were injured after three separate shootings in Toronto, all taking place late Sunday night.

Around 11 p.m., officers responded to two calls for a shooting near St. James Avenue and Bleecker Street, just north of Wellesley and Sherbourne streets.

Police say a group was playing basketball when a fight broke out and shots were fired.

Two people were taken to hospital but their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police say they are searching for two suspects who ran away from the scene.

Earlier, just before 11 p.m., police were called to Vanauley Walk, in the Spadina Avenue and Dundas Street area. One man was shot in the leg and taken to hospital. There is no word on suspects.

Then just before midnight, police were called to Chester Le Boulevard and Morecambe Gate for the sounds of gunshots in the area. Shell casings were found at the scene, but it doesn’t appear that anyone was injured.
