26-year-old shot dead in Brampton identified

Police have identified a man who was shot dead in Brampton on Saturday night.

Police responded to a call in the area of Chinguacousy Road and Bovaird Drive West shortly after 10 p.m.

One resident in the area told CityNews they heard at least three shots fired.

Peel police say the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.

He has been identified as 26-year-old Nasser Abdoulkader from Brampton.

Police say the victim and a group of people were standing in front of a home when shots were fired from a dark coloured vehicle, but no one else was injured.

There is still no word on suspects and no arrests have been made.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact them or Crime Stoppers.

The death marks the 11th homicide of the year in Peel Region.
