Man suffers serious injuries in drive-by shooting in Lawrence Heights

Toronto police say a man is being treated for serious injuries after a drive-by shooting in Lawrence Heights.
Officers say it happened on Varna Road near Flemington Road just before 4:30 Friday afternoon.
Police say early reports indicate the victim was standing on the corner of the street when a black sedan drove by. Someone from inside the car shot at him, striking the victim a number of times before speeding off.
Police continue to investigate the incident.
Anyone who witnessed the shooting or saw a black sedan driving away is asked to contact police or Crime Stoppers.
