Police searching for suspect after fatal shooting in Brampton

The Peel police homicide division is investigating after a man in his 30s was found dead following a shooting in Brampton on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to a call for shots fired on Vodden Court near Vodden Street East and Kennedy road around 2:40 p.m.

Const. Lori Murphy said multiple shots were heard and when police arrived, they found a man who had apparent gunshot wounds.

37-year-old Oliver Augustas Willis from Brampton was pronounced dead at the scene as a result of the injuries he sustained.

Police are looking for a dark coloured vehicle seen leaving the scene and officers are searching for a suspect with tactical and K-9 units.

Police say it was an isolated incident and there is no threat to public safety, but citizens are being asked to avoid the area. They’re asking witnesses with dashcam video or any other information to come forward.
