Police search for family of fatal hit-and-run victim; driver arrested

Peel police have released the name of a 61-year-old woman killed in a hit-and-run in Mississauga as they try to find her family.
Around 8:45 p.m., Layla Wilke was crossing Mavis Road, near Derry, when she was hit by a southbound car and died. She was not in a marked crosswalk at the time.
The driver of the small, white car that hit her did not stop.
Police have recovered video from the area and said the driver likely panicked and drove off.
Shortly before 7 p.m. on Saturday night, the driver in question turned himself in to police and a car that was believed to have been involved in the hit-and-run was recovered in Brampton.
