A small plane has crash landed at Billy Bishop Airport.

PortsToronto, which operates the airport, said around 3 p.m., a single-engine aircraft was landing on the main runway when the nose gear collapsed.

Only the pilot was on board at the time.

Airport firefighters responded as a precaution, but there was no fire and no injuries.

Crews removed the aircraft and debris from the runway, which reopened around 5 p.m.

The airport is advising passengers to check their flight status in case of delays.

The Transportation Safety Board was called to the scene and has since released it.
