Double shooting at Lawrence Square Shopping Centre

Two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds after multiple shots were heard at Lawrence Square Shopping Centre on Monday afternoon.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting inside the North York mall near Lawrence Avenue West and Allen Road around 3:30 p.m.

Police say a lone gunman opened fire in the presence of other shoppers, discharging a number of rounds and hitting two men. Their injuries do not appear to be life-threatening.

One victim was found at the mall and was taken to hospital with minor injuries from the shooting.

A 27-year-old man was located at a nearby home suffering from a single gunshot wound and was transported to hospital.

The victims are not co-operating with investigators.

Police say two or more suspects fled in a white four-door sedan. One suspect is described as a black male wearing a hooded top.

A CityNews viewer who works in the office towers above the mall said the building was placed under hold and secure. Building security advised occupants to stay in their office units and lock the doors. Soon after, they were told to evacuate the premises.
