Elderly woman dies after being struck by vehicle at Eglinton and Weston

An 85-year-old woman has died after being struck by a vehicle in North York on Monday evening.

Police responded to a call just after 5:30 p.m. at Eglinton Avenue, west of Weston Road.

The woman suffered life-threatening injuries and was rushed to hospital. She later succumbed to her injuries.

The road was closed for over three hours while the collision reconstruction team was on scene, but has since reopened.

Details about the vehicle involved have not been released by police at this time.

Witnesses or anyone with information regarding the incident is asked to contact police.
