5 arrested after police pursue stolen vehicle on Hwy. 401

Five people have been taken into custody following a police pursuit along Highway 401 on Monday night.
Police said it happened around 10:30 p.m.
Officers spotted a stolen car and tried to pull it over. When the vehicle didn’t stop, a police pursuit ensued.
The vehicle then exited the 401 at Yonge Street and crashed near Avondale Avenue, which is south of Sheppard Avenue.
There are reports a gun may have been involved.
Three of the males arrested are adults and two are youths, police said. They are facing numerous charges including obtaining property by crime and pointing a firearm.
