White supremacist rally in Peterborough cancelled due to counter-protest

The organizer of a white supremacist rally in Peterborough said he cancelled the event on Saturday due to public safety concerns.

A large crowd of anti-fascist protesters had gathered at Peterborough’s Confederation Square ahead of the Canadian Nationalist Front’s planned anti-Trudeau and anti-immigration rally, and tensions were heightened.

Kevin Goudreau had originally said the event would go ahead despite the city not granting organizers a permit.
