Teen charged after 18-year-old stabbed near Oshawa high school

Durham regional police have arrested a 15-year-old boy in connection with a stabbing near a Oshawa high school last week.

The alleged attack happened near a football field behind G.L. Roberts Secondary School on Sept. 6. The school is located near the South Oshawa Community Centre.

Police say two males – one of them the 18-year-old – were fighting when victim was stabbed.

The 18-year-old, who is not a student at the school, had to undergo surgery. He is expected to recover.

The suspect fled the area, but was later arrested. It is not known if he is a student at the school.

The teen has been charged with three offences including assault with a weapon. He has been held pending a bail hearing.

Correction: Police initially said the 18-year-old was a student at the school.
