Durham regional police are investigating after a racial slur was scratched into a car parked at a plaza in Oshawa on Wednesday.
Police say a black woman and her son walked into a grocery store near King Street East and Townline Road at around 7:15 p.m.
They were only in the store for about 15 minutes, but returned to find their car vandalized with a racial slur that was scratched into the passenger door.
Police would like to speak to anyone who was in the plaza between 7:15 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. and may have seen something.
The victim’s car was parked in front of Halenda’s Meats. If you know anything, call police.
