Police have arrested a Thornhill man who allegedly stole a woman’s purse and then used her keys to break into her Yorkville home and steal her car.
The woman, 59, told police she attended a work function at a downtown hotel on June 6, and her purse was stolen from a common area.
It’s alleged the man who stole the purse used her ID and keys to get into her house, but was stopped by a 60-year-old woman inside.
Police said the suspect fled, but stole the 59-year-old woman’s car.
On July 23, police arrested Martin Dimitrov, 40, and charged him with four offences, including theft, break-and-enter with intent and possession of property obtained by crime.
