Man, 89, who died in Whitby retirement home stabbed himself

An 89-year-old man who died in a Whitby retirement home on Thursday had stabbed himself, police say.
The man was involved in a fight with his wife, 87, who was also stabbed at the residence near Anderson Street and Taunton Road around 5:45 a.m.
She was treated in hospital for non-life-threatening injuries and released.
Police said it was an isolated incident.
