Toronto police have arrested two men and are seeking two others after more than $3.5 million worth of luxury items, including high-end vehicles, were stolen in Toronto and Mississauga over a span of six months.
Police say their probe, called Project Seconds, started in January after a flurry of break-ins and car thefts.
On Wednesday police executed search warrants at a home and business in Toronto, seizing jewellery, watches and designer handbags. They also recovered $70,000 in cash.
Tomasz Paliwoda, 35, and Anna Paliwoda, 34, both of Toronto, were arrested and each face a single count of possession of property obtained by crime.
Arrest warrants have also issued for two other men — Piotr Wroblewski, 38, and Shane Hendry, 21, both of Toronto. They are wanted on a slew of charges including break and enter and theft of a motor vehicle.
