Corus CFO to retire, replacement has worked for Telus, CTV, Rogers

By The Canadian Press

TORONTO – Corus Entertainment has announced that one of its long-time senior executives will retire in August and be replaced by another veteran of Canada’s media and telecommunication industry.

It says chief financial officer Tom Peddie will be retiring after 17 years with the media company.

He joined Corus (TSX:CJR.B) in June 1999, three months before its official creation.

Peddie’s successor will be John Gossling, who joins the Corus leadership team on July 4.

Gossling had been chief financial officer at Telus Corp. until recently. His departure was announced by Telus on May 16 but the company didn’t say where he was going.

Prior to Telus, Gossling held senior finance positions at two of Canada’s other major telecom-media companies — CTVglobemedia and Rogers Communications — and was a partner at KPMG LLP.
