Daycare worker charged in sexual assault of six-year-old boy

By News Staff

A 23-year-old Toronto babysitter and daycare worker is facing sexual assault charges and the alleged victim is a six-year-old boy.

Police say a man advertised his babysitting services online through care.com.

He was hired by parents to watch their child at their home in the Woodbine and Danforth Avenue area about three weeks ago.

The victim later told his parents he had been sexually assaulted.

Daniel Harker is charged with sexual assault and sexual interference.

Police believe there may be other victims because the accused had access to other children.

He worked as a lunchroom monitor at Pape Avenue Junior Public School, a part-time recreation worker at wading pools and gym classes, a pre-school daycare worker at Gledhill Child Care Centre and also worked at drop-in programs at SH Armstrong Community Centre.
