Halton police have one suspect in custody but are still searching for the second after a stolen truck crashed on the QEW on Thursday morning.
Police believe a cube van had been hotwired, and then driven to Budds Auto on South Service Road near Bronte Road around 2 a.m. However, the attempted break-in triggered an alarm, which alerted a security service. Employees from the service were able to follow the vehicle.
A short time later, the cube van went into a ditch at the off-ramp on the Toronto-bound QEW at Trafalgar Road.
One man was arrested after a brief chase. He was checked out by paramedics and taken into custody. A second man is still on the loose.
