The Canadian Wildlife Federation (CWF) wants your help saving birds, bees, butterflies and bats.
Rogers and CWF are teaming up to hold the second annual Goose Gala and tickets are limited.
The gala is being held on Thursday, April 14 during National Wildlife week. This year highlights the 100th anniversary of the Migratory Bird Convention through the theme ‘Giving Wings to Wildlife Conservation.’ According to the CWF, Canadian species are on decline due to habitat loss, climate change and pesticides.
Hosts for the event include Canadian funnyman Martin Short and TSN broadcaster Brian Williams.
Loretta Rogers, widow of the late Rogers Communications CEO Ted Rogers, will be recognized for her ongoing support of CWF’s efforts to protect wildlife. Other guests include former Canada’s Next Top Model judge Yasmin Warsame, Canadian actor Adrian Holmes, wildlife artist Robert Bateman and past Lieutenant Governor David Onley.
Special celebrity guests are expected to make appearances throughout the evening.
Event spokesperson Dr. Bernie Gosevitz tells 680 NEWS, “People will undoubtedly be entertained, very well fed and will definitely get their money’s worth.”
Tables are available for $10,000 and an individual ticket for $1,000.
“100 per cent of the funds raised in this evening stay within Canada and go towards education and conservation programs,” he says.
The Goose Gala will take place on April 14 at the Four Seasons Hotel in Toronto.
