Man tackles woman, climbs on top of her at Langstaff GO station

York police are looking for a suspect after a woman was sexually assaulted at the Langstaff GO station in Richmond Hill.

The alleged incident happened at around 2:30 p.m. on Thursday as the woman was walking towards the bus platform at the station, located in the Highway 7 and Yonge Street area.

Police say the 24-year-old was walking on the pedestrian walkway below the Highway 7 bridge when a man ran up to her, tackled her to the ground, climbed on top of her and asked her to have sex with him.

The victim was able to fight him off and scratched his face. He fled the scene on foot.

The woman received minor injuries.

The suspect is described as black, 18 to 25 years old, with a heavy build. He has black hair with a hi-top fade cut and facial hair.
