York Regional Police are issuing a public warning after another sexual assault incident occurred in the Yonge Street and Green Lane area of Newmarket on Tuesday morning.

There have been total five sexual assaults reported in southwest Newmarket since mid-August.

The suspect description is the same in each case: a 20-to-25-year-old white male with a thin build, wearing a hoodie with the hood up.

Const. Laura Nicolle tells 680NEWS that investigators will be “stopping and speaking to anyone who might potentially match that description.”

Nicolle said they do have a little extra to go on, like the fact four of the five attacks happened on a Tuesday, and that the suspect “has a tendency to pace back and forth prior to committing these incidents.”

Until an arrest is made, Nicolle is advising women in Newmarket to keep their eyes open when they’re out, and in particular, don’t walk while listening to headphones.
