Paul Gross and Martha Burns reunite onstage for ‘Domesticated’

TORONTO – Real-life couple Paul Gross and Martha Burns will star as a scandal-plagued politician and wife in a stage production of “Domesticated.”
The Company Theatre, in partnership with Canadian Stage, says this will be the first time in more than 30 years that the “Slings and Arrows” stars will perform on stage together.
The Canadian premiere of Bruce Norris’ play is set to run Nov. 17 to Dec. 13 in Toronto.
It follows a popular politician whose life and reputation is turned upside down when police find him at the bedside of an injured prostitute.
Gross and Burns met in the early 1980s at the National Arts Centre when they both performed in Sharon Pollock’s “Walsh.” They later performed on stage together in 1984 when they starred in the Marivaux comedy “Successful Strategies” at Montreal’s Centaur Theatre.
The Company Theatre was formed in 2004 by “Republic of Doyle” star Allan Hawco and Philip Riccio, who will direct “Domesticated.”
