Hydro One warns customers about latest phone scam

Hydro One is warning customers about another telephone scam targeting both residents and businesses.
The utility said on Monday that someone has been calling customers, claiming to work for Hydro One, and demanding a credit card number, or another method of payment, to clear up an overdue account.
Hydro One is reminding customers that it never solicits credit card payments over the phone and never asks for wire transfers.
Those who have received a phone call asking for such a payment are being advised to hang up, and call the police as well as the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre at 1-888-495-8501.
