Snow arrived in Toronto and the GTA on Thursday afternoon, impacting the evening commute home.
Earlier in the day, Environment Canada issued a special weather statement for the snow. Toronto, Halton-Peel, York-Durham and Hamilton were all covered by the statement, which ended just before 10 p.m.
Police said weather was a factor when a GO bus dinged a guardrail on Highway 407 at Yonge Street. The driver suffered minor injuries but no passengers were hurt.
The last time the city saw a significant snowfall was on Dec. 11.
In January of 2014, the region had about three times the amount of snow, according to 680News meteorologist Jill Taylor.
“We really haven’t had a whole lot of snow this month, although 10.8 centimetres has managed to fall at Toronto Pearson. Just a couple of centimetres at times, and that’s about it.”
