Missing Vaughan woman, 76, found safe in neighbour's unlocked car

A woman who had been missing since Thursday evening was found by a neighbour, cold and confused, in his unlocked car.

The neighbour was leaving for work on Friday morning when he came across Jenny Franchi, 76.

He brought her into his home, gave her some tea, and called police.

“I am going to give him the biggest reward. I don’t know what it is yet, but it’s going to be big,” Franchi’s daughter, Gloria.

She thanked police and the 100 volunteers who assisted in the search for her mother.

“It was an absolute night of hell. But I am of the belief that if you have this much support it can only turn out to be positive.”

Franchi had gone missing in the Keele Street and McNaughton Road area, in Vaughan, at 6 p.m. on Thursday.

At time Franchi went missing, police said she was inside a vehicle and left before her caregiver realized she was gone.

Police and Franchi’s family were concerned for her well-being as she has some cognitive impairment and speaks very little English.
