Elderly man seriously injured after struck by vehicle in Richmond Hill

An elderly man has suffered life-threatening injuries after being struck by a vehicle while crossing the street in Richmond Hill.
York regional police say the man was crossing Yonge Street, north of Major Mackenzie Drive, around 9 a.m. on Friday when he was hit.
The man is believed to be in his 80s.
The driver remained on the scene.
Yonge is closed between Crosby Avenue and Bedford Park Avenue for the investigation.
