Boy, 5, hospitalized in NYC for possible Ebola symptoms: reports

A five-year-old boy is reportedly being observed in a New York City hospital for possible Ebola symptoms.

According to media reports, the boy and his family returned home from Guinea on Saturday night — one of 3 West African countries hardest hit by Ebola.

He was brought to Bellevue Hospital, law-enforcement sources told the New York Post.

Neighbours said the boy was carried from his home in the Bronx by paramedics wearing Hazmat suits. Reports say the boy was vomiting and had a 103-degree fever.

The city’s health department told ABC News the boy is in isolation, but hasn’t been tested yet for Ebola.

Meanwhile, Dr. Craig Spencer, who contracted the virus, remains in serious but stable condition at the same hospital where the five-year old is being monitored.
