2nd suspect arrested in random Yonge Street stabbing

Toronto police have arrested a second suspect in a random stabbing near Yonge-Dundas Square.

Cory Galea, 21, of no fixed address, surrendered at 52 Division with his lawyer on Thursday, police said in a release.

He’s facing charges of attempt murder, aggravated assault, carry conceal weapon and possession of a weapon.

A 33-year-old man was walking along Yonge Street, just north of Dundas, just after midnight on Wednesday when he accidentally bumped into two other men while texting.

A fight broke out and the victim was stabbed in the heart. He was taken to hospital with critical injuries. He has since been stabilized and is able to speak with his family.

The first suspect, Mohamed Ali, 27, of Toronto, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with attempted murder and aggravated assault.
