Teen boy injured after medical incident at Brampton park

A boy, believed to be 15 years old, is in critical condition after being injured from a medical incident at a Brampton park.

The incident occurred at Chinguacousy Park, located at 9050 Bramalea Rd., near Central Park Drive.

The call came in at 8:15 a.m. as a “male unconscious,” and when the ambulance arrived at the scene, paramedics performed CPR on the boy.

The boy was stabilized and was then taken to the Hospital for Sick Children in Toronto.

Peel police Const. Fiona Thivierge said he was riding his scooter at the skate park. Initial reports said he was on his bike.

Two other people were also at the skate park at the time, and “the next time [they] saw him, he was lying on the ground,” she said.

Thivierge also said he wasn’t wearing a helmet at the time.

The skate park was closed as police investigated.
