The family of a boy and his grandparents who disappeared in Calgary wiped away tears as they appealed for the trio’s return Wednesday.
Five-year-old Nathan O’Brien was reported missing Monday when his mother went to pick him up after a sleep-over at her parents’ home.
Alvin Liknes, his wife Kathy and the boy were not there and police issued an Amber Alert.
Investigators say they are treating the case as a suspicious disappearance and hope all three will be found alive.
Nathan’s father, Rod O’Brien, made an emotional appeal Wednesday that was carried live on national TV.
“Nathan, we are going to bring you home very soon,” O’Brien said. “Nathan, God is taking care of your soul and Mom and Dad need you to be brave right now.
“Whoever has Nathan, please find it in your heart to drop off our little angel Nathan (so) he can be rescued and reunited with his brothers and his family.”
Investigators said they want to speak with anyone who attended an estate sale at the grandparents’ home on the weekend.
The pair were selling their things as they planned a move to Mexico.
