‘Anyone But Ford’ signs removed from Trinity-Bellwoods park

A Toronto group briefly set up ‘Anyone But Ford’ signs in Trinity-Bellwoods Park but they were taken down after a few hours.

The tongue-in-cheek signs, which are sponsored by NoFordNation.com, were first seen on Monday morning.

They feature fictional candidates with slogans that reference Mayor Rob Ford’s admitted drug use and bad behavior.

One of them reads, “He promises to just smoke pot as mayor. Not crack. Anyone’s better than Rob Ford.” Another reads, “If elected, I promise I will just get publicly drunk.”

The signs, which were on city property without a permit, were removed just before 1 p.m.

The campaign website isn’t sponsored by any one specific candidate. Instead, the non-profit has teamed up with an ad agency to create a create a cartoon called The Toronto Mayor Show.
