Snow squall watch ends for Toronto, parts of southern Ontario

A snow squall watch issued by Environment Canada for Toronto and parts of southern Ontario has ended.

The warning was issued for “brief bursts of heavy snow” on Tuesday afternoon.

CityNews meteorologist Natasha Ramsahai said the snow may have been heavy at times with reduced visibility, but was short-lived.

“It’s passing through the GTA right now,” she said, shortly before 4 p.m on Tuesday.

Snowfall amounts of up to a centimetre were possible.

Drivers were advised to prepare for sudden low visibility.

The temperature is expected to fall this evening with a -12 C low overnight and feeling like -21 with the wind by Wednesday morning.
