Dozens of firefighters are at the scene of a three-alarm fire in the northwest end of the city.
It started around noon on Tuesday in a townhouse on Lippincott Street East, near Weston Road and Jane Street.
Capt. Mike Strapko said Toronto Fire had 12 trucks and 35 firefighters battling the blaze in defensive mode after a partial ceiling collapse.
The roof of the unit next door is unstable, and smoke was visible in the neighbouring townhomes, which share an attic.
One resident was taken to hospital with a burn to the foot.
Ontario’s fire marshal has been called in to investigate.
