Doug Ford slams mayoral candidates while on TVO’s ‘The Agenda’

Mayor Rob Ford’s brother is on the attack in what’s already becoming a very nasty mayoral election campaign.

Councillor Doug Ford appeared on The Agenda with Steve Paikin on Thursday last night on TVO, where he spoke about those who have entered the race, including John Tory.

“Because of Tory, we’ve had many years of wasted billions of dollars with the provincial government,” he said.

Olivia Chow has yet to announce she’ll be making a run for mayor but Coun. Ford also had a comment about her.

“Olivia Chow doesn’t have a record.”

Former TTC chair Karen Stintz registered on Monday.

“Karen Stintz has a record of flip-flopping back and forth between streetcars, LRTs versus subways,” he said.

Paikin said it seems as if Coun. Ford is a co-mayor, saying you get two for the price of one.

“I think that’s a pretty good deal,” Ford said.

“But make no mistake about it. Rob makes the decisions, not Doug Ford.”

Ford hints another one of his family member will put his or her name forward to run for councillor in his ward this fall, as he will be focusing on running the mayor’s re-election campaign.

Toronto voters will head to the polls on Oct. 27.
