Midtown apartment evacuated due to carbon monoxide leak

A two-storey walk-up apartment building in midtown Toronto has been evacuated because of high levels of carbon monoxide detected inside.

Paramedics and the Toronto Fire department were on the scene near Yonge Street and Glengrove Avenue West on Tuesday morning.

Toronto EMS officials told 680News no injuries have been reported.

Toronto police said a call came in at around 7 a.m. alerting them to a strong, gas-like smell in the hallways. The alarms did not go off.

Fire crews are trying to find the source of the carbon monoxide.

Two dozen people were forced out of their units and kept warm on TTC buses.
