Update expected on fatal shooting outside Rexdale community centre

Toronto police are expected to provide an update later Wednesday on a fatal shooting outside a Rexdale community centre last month.
Neeko Mitchell, 25, was at the North Kipling Community Centre on Nov. 24. He was watching his brother play basketball, a friend told CityNews. There were dozens of spectators at the game, including children.
The community centre, near Kipling and Finch avenues, is attached to North Kipling Junior Middle School.
Mitchell left the centre around 8 p.m. and was gunned down on the steps. He was the city’s 53rd murder victim of the year.
There’s no word on suspects or what Mitchell was shot.
Det. Sgt. Brian Borg of the homicide squad addressed reporters at 10 a.m.
