5 things to do this weekend: Cavalcade of Lights and Bills at Rogers Centre

Cavalcade of Lights Festival: The 47th annual Cavalcade of Lights features the illumination of Toronto’s official Christmas tree, performances by some of Canada’s top musical talent, a brilliant fireworks show and a skating party at Nathan Phillips Square.  The evening will begin with performances by Tyler Shaw, Cold Specks, Divine Brown and Carvin Winans. Breakfast Television’s Kevin Frankish will be hosting the event and if you can’t make it out we’ll be live streaming the festivities on CityNews.ca. Buffalo Bills vs. Atlanta Falcons: NFL football is back in Toronto this weekend when the Bills clash with the Falcons. One-Of-A-Kind Show: If the options at the mall don’t cut it, this is the place to find unique, hand-crafted gifts for someone special. The show, which debuted in 1975, has become a Toronto tradition and attracts more than 800 artisans and 200,000 shoppers yearly. There will also be daily figure skating performances and a special appearance by six-time Canadian figure skating champion, Josée Chouinard. Direct Energy Centre. Steam Whistle Unsigned: Some of the best independent Canadian musicians will be showcased at this 6th annual event in the Toronto Brewery’s Beer Hall.  Rituals, The oOohh Baby Gimme Mores and Fresh Snow will take the stage and all proceeds from ticket sales go to the Artists Health Alliance.
