2 men stabbed in Vaughan parking lot

VAUGHAN – York Regional Police are investigating after two men were stabbed in a Vaughan parking lot early Monday.

Police say five men were near some parked tow trucks behind a grocery store in a parking lot in the Bathurst Street and Rutherford Road area around 12:45 a.m. when they were approached and attacked by four to five men armed with knives and an axe.

A 19-year-old and 20-year-old — both of Richmond Hill — were stabbed during the altercation and sustained non-life threatening injuries.

The suspects fled the scene.

Police describe the suspects as Middle Eastern, in their 20s and ranging in height from five-foot-nine to six-foot-two. At least one suspect wore a bandana over his face.

Investigators would like to speak with anyone who has information or was in the plaza around the time of the incident, as well as with business owners who may have surveillance video of the area.
