5 things to do this weekend: BabyTime Show, Cronenberg exhibit & Day of the Dead

The BabyTime Show: The ninth annual celebration of all things pregnancy – and parenting – offers seminars, expert talks and, of course, plenty of places to shop for your new bundle of joy. Day of the Dead: The day after Halloween – Día de Muertos – is the largest holiday in Mexico and is celebrated throughout Latin America, where relatives pay tribute to family and friends who have died. In Toronto, visit handcrafted ofrendas (altars to the dead) and take in concerts at the Harbourfront. There are also family-friendly activities. Harbourfront Centre, 235 Queens Quay W. Remembrance Day: The Queen’s Own Rifles will be on hand for military displays and visitors can take in a performance from the QOR Regimental Band when Remembrance Day is observed at Casa Loma. An Afternoon With Lemony Snicket: The author of the famed children’s series A Series of Unfortunate Events will present his latest novel at the Revue Cinema. When Did You See Her Last? is the latest book in the All the Wrong Questions series. A book-signing will follow the presentation. David Cronenberg: Evolution: Take a look behind the scenes of one of Canada’s most famous directors as the Toronto International Film Festival celebrates David Cronenberg.
